First members, first meeting

Eighteen high school students came together, from South Texas. At the end of the day they reflected on it at the inaugural meeting—which laid the groundwork for STYC which has subsequently produced public policy proposals. 

This initiative is named iSol. In 2015 STYC members attended the Texas Capitol to request a study on the status of infrastructure to support high speed broadband in their schools. This request, iSol, is reflected in HB 3467.

In 2017 at the 85th Texas session the work continued with HB3813. 

They laid the groundwork for subsequent meetings. 

Some members had to leave early and were not interviewed.
